Great Lakes Billing Services (GLBS) has earned a national reputation as an
innovative leader in the healthcare industry. GLBS is the industry leader in
Out-of-State Medicaid Billing Services. From our corporate headquarters in
Chicago, GLBS assists hospitals from coast to coast in the complex process of
securing reimbursement through Out-of-State Medicaid.
Our clients understand that we succeed where other companies fail due to our
uniquely integrated approach. GLBS billers have access to the full resources of
attorneys, skip-tracers, and managers of Great Lakes Medicaid, Great Lakes
Financial Services, and The Law Offices of James A. Knepper, P.C.
In addition, GLBS managers and billers have decades of experience in billing and
with the Medicaid regulations in all 50 states. These employees also receive
regular training from our attorneys to keep them abreast of the continuously
changing state Medicaid regulations.
Our unique approach to the complexities of Out-of-State Medicaid billing is what
sets us apart. Below we detail some of the techniques we use when faced with
the biggest challenges to successful Out-of-State billing:
-
Eligibility Verification -
Using our contacts and experience, GLBS can quickly and efficiently verify a
patient's eligibility and inform patient accounting of any and all potential
third-party payers.
-
Pre-certification/Authorization -
GLBS is uniquely qualified to help hospitals obtain pre-authorization for
services provided. Since each Medicaid program is different, it is often
impossible for hospitals to stay abreast of each state's requirements. GLBS can
help, and we can do so with only minimal assistance from your facility. We
require only that the hospital fax us the Medicaid Admissions form and forward
the appropriate medical records upon discharge. Once approval has been granted,
we will notify you of the authorization information.
-
Provider Enrollment - GLBS can
prepare provider enrollment applications for you. Once it is completed, we
forward it to your facility for signatures. Once signatures are obtained,
applications are tracked until the Out-of-State Medicaid program has approved
them.
-
Inpatient / Outpatient Billing - GLBS has the ability to bill all inpatient Out-of-State Medicaid claims. This includes secondary claims and Medicare Crossovers. We also offer the option of billing electronically.
- Appeals - GLBS are experts at filing Out-of-State Medicaid appeals. We have successfully appealed accounts denied for any number of reasons, including failure to file in a timely manner, provider enrollment, or authorization delays.
